About Brady
MY MISSION

My mission as beautifully expressed by Dawna Markova:
I will not die an unlived life
by Dawna Markova, a cancer survivor
I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear of falling
Or of catching fire
I choose to inhabit my days
To allow my living to open me
Making me less afraid
More accessible
To loosen my heart
So that it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise
I choose to risk my significance.
To live so that that which comes to me as seed
Goes to the next as blossom
And that which comes to me as blossom
Goes on as fruit.
MY WORK AS A COACH

I graduated from the Newfield Network Inc. Coaching for Professional and Personal Mastery (CPPM) program. I am a Certified Newfield Network Coach and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) of the International Coaching Federation. I am deeply passionate about the work of Life Coaching and am committed to the vision that every one of my clients live life with greater competence, ease, joy and well-being. This allows them to be more present, more capable, and more fully alive. I describe my work style as thoughtful, compassionate, authentic, intuitive, practical, spontaneous, respectful, collaborative and when necessary, irreverent.
MY TRAINING

In 1988, I was prompted by the unexpected and untimely death of my beloved brother Mike, age 41, to begin investing time, energy and resources into my own growth and personal path. Since then, this search has supported, enhanced and informed all my professional work with clients.
I value and utilize the learning from this partial list of trainings, work and teachers:
- Cheri Huber's work
- Emotional Freedom Technique
- Energy Medicine, Donna Eden
- Illusion Conclusion Courses, Gerry Stocking
- IMAGO Relationship Therapy, Harville Hendrix
- Ken Wilbur’s Integral Model
- Ontological Coaching, Julio Olalla
- Psychosynthesis
- Seishindo, Charlie Badenhop
- The Work, Byron Katie
- Focusing, Eugene Gendlin
MY PATH

Way back in 1975, I received a MA in history (with a focus on oral history) that supported my interest in people’s unique stories. When I completed my Masters in Social Work at the University of Michigan in 1986, I began to counsel individuals, couples and families. This work led me to facilitative mediation training under Zena Zumeta in 1991, with a focus on giving clients an opportunity to be in charge of their lives, to feel empowerment, and to have the ability to make skillful choices even in the most stressful moments of life. During the next fourteen years, I mediated hundreds of conflicts around separation, divorce, post-divorce and stepfamily relations in private practice in Ann Arbor. Years of witnessing the pain and suffering of separating and divorcing couples cultivated my interest and desire to help couples through IMAGO Relationship Therapy (originated by Harville Hendrix, PhD, author of Getting the Love You Want). 1998 was the start of my work with couples using IMAGO priciples and tools.
I heard "the call" in May of 2002 the call to change what I was doing. It marked the beginning of a long, difficult period of searching for what was next. Joseph Campbell calls this kind of experience "being in the belly of the whale". I didn’t have those words then; I called it "the dark night of the soul." Coming out of that process, I was prepared and determined to make a profound and intentional change in the focus of my work from mediating to coaching. This led me to (pursue) Divorce Coaching (as found in the Collaborative Law model for divorce) and my completion of the intensive Life Coaching program (CPPM) with Newfield Network, Inc. and becoming certified. It also encompassed the pursuit of my strong interest in wellness that has manifested as ongoing training in both Energy Medicine (2005 to present) and Energy Therapies (2004 to present).
On a more personal note, I am married and have four adult children two stepchildren and two biological children. I also have three wonderful grandchildren. I quilt with my friend Beth. I garden when the weather permits. I swim. I frequent Aunt Agatha's Mystery Book store on Fourth Avenue, when I am not reading self-help books! I love the ocean: the smell, the sounds, its depth and power.
