Wellness / Well-Being

Each person in the world has a different definition or concept of well being or wellness, and each person is looking for something unique to them in their quest for greater wellness/well being. Depending upon the client, I teach and use many approaches to help them achieve their wellness goals and find their way. Chief among these techniques is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
“Your emotional health, your success in the world, and your level of joy can all be dramatically enhanced by shifting the energies that regulate them.”
--David Feinstein, Donna Eden & Gary Craig, The Promise of Energy Psychology
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), it is a relatively new and powerful technique created by a Stanford engineer, Gary Craig, who left engineering and became a personal performance coach. It is a rather unconventional technique and some may even call it “odd” but it is gaining in popularity and credibility as more and more people experience it. A recent client of mine had heard about it from his child’s doctor. Another client had seen it demonstrated on TV. EFT is currently used by many coaches, educators, therapists, nurses, etc. all over the world.
EFT targets (through tapping particular acupressure points) one of the body’s energy systems, the meridian system, which was discovered by the Chinese over 5,000 years ago. According to Gary Craig, when we have a negative thought, emotion, or event our energy system is disrupted or blocked. EFT can clear the blocked energy. EFT can balance the disturbance. This allows us to move closer to our more natural state, closer to a state of well-being.
Why learn EFT?
I use this technique with myself and with EFT clients for many reasons. It is easy-to-learn, easy-to-use, gentle, non-invasive, produces no side-effects, can be used almost anywhere, and often has rapid results.
EFT is consistent with my approach to coaching. It is a collaboration, with the client and me working together to achieve their goals; for example to reduce stress and anxiety or to eliminate negative thoughts that reduce their effectiveness. Furthermore, EFT can also be used to create positive, powerful and life-enhancing thoughts and beliefs.
What can you use EFT for? Here is a partial list:

- Worry
- Limiting Beliefs
